Lemon boy and me...

 "Started to get along, together.." 

Just kidding... my "lemon boy" and I still have not found a way to "get along" (work together). I want something and they want something else. Every time I ask them to do one thing for me, their response is, "cant we just do that later?" And then they continue walking away. And then, when they ask me if we can do something and I respond with, "cant we do that later?" They throw a fit. Its great. I love it...

On Thursday morning, I was able to get a priesthood blessing from my awesome cousin, Elder Welch! It is so unique getting priesthood blessing, but even more unique receiving one from your family. I personally hate asking for help (so having the courage to ask for a blessing is not on my radar) but luckily, I have the most wonderful mom who reached out to Elder Guymon (who is my 6th cousin) and Elder Welch (who is my first cousin) and asked both of them if they could give me a blessing. I asked Elder Welch for the first one, but momma, dont worry, I will gain the courage to ask Elder Guymon. Elder Welch was just leaving sooner. 

You remember doing those earthquake drills in school? Well on Friday, we had to do an actual "evacuation" if thats what you want to call it. My district and I were sat down for lunch, when the alarm starts blarring. Nobody knew what to do, so we all kinda sat there until the second counselor of the MTC Presidency told everyone to get outside with urgency. We all kinda meandered outside just thinking it was a drill but found out later it was a size 4 earthquake 2 hours away from us. Crazy! Didn't feel a thing. 

I also, SOMEHOW, convinced my comp to be early to class that day! So I spent about half an hour talking with Hermano Ontiveros, trying to work on my spanish. We had to do a pre-test for going out in the field on Thursday, where we had to listen to a phrase and repeat it and then answer some questions at the end. One of the questions was, "what is your favorite movie. And why?" So I asked Hno. Ontiveros what his favorite movie in spanish was, and, just like Hno. Cabrera, it is Shrek. He was saying its his favorite because they use spanish phrases instead of the english phrases. Like donkey's "and in the morning, im making waffles" phrase. But in spanish, its "y quieres tamales?" 

On Saturday, I spent the whole gym time hour talking to 2 elders who also had to have ACL surgery! My comp broke the rules and left my sight but I really didn't care as I was able to have conversations with people who had half of the same procedure done. Isnt it just crazy how a simple knee brace can bring up similar problems or things to talk about?! 

One fast Sunday down... only 17 more... right mom? Hey, Aunt Crystal! I found ways to make sure Sunday isnt as unbearble and ways to not think of my family the whole day!! This Sunday, I met with my Branch President about finding ways to help me with my companion. I had a conversation with my district leader on Saturday morning to see if he and his companion could think of ways to help but the best they could do was bring it up to the branch president, which i am grateful for. 

In our conversation, my branch president reminded me that I need to be better at sharing my feelings. I HATE sharing my feelings. Everyone at home knows that, and I wait to share my feelings when I dont know just what feelings I am feeling anymore and let it all out on dad. Well I cant quite do that anymore... My branch president believes that if I share my feelings about my companion not caring, he thinks things will change... so... we will hope that works... 

Tuesday, we had a wonderful devotional about feasting on the words of Christ. Being here at the CCM, I feel like I study the words of Christ better than I have in all my years of reading the book of mormon. I actually take time to highlight what I like and sometimes will highlight it on my phone to put under a tag so I can use it in a mock "lesson" or an actual lesson when I am truly out in the field. One of my favorite takeaways from the devotional was "knowing that the Book of Mormon is true, is not enough! We need to feel the truth and power of the Book of Mormon for ourselves" President Nelson. 

It is crazy to think that in 2 weeks, I will be back up in the states. My time here has been such an amazing experience. My spanish improves everyday. I just need to gain the confidence in speaking the language. Mom! You better be ready for a trip to Mexico when I get home!

•Met our new district, theyre definitely some characters. 

•We played volleyball with the new district too. They all lie if you ask them if they've played volleyball before

•Saw our first (pretty much second) sunset!
