If I get to close, and Im not how you hoped

Something about being here in SoCal makes me miss Utah mountains so bad. I wish I was back home driving the winding mountin roads with Anna in the passenger seat and Emmalee in the back seat, blasting Noah Kahan and screaming the lyrics at the tops of our lungs... but now I am in California where I get to stare at the mountains in the distance, which, half of the time, are completely covered by smoke so I dont even get to see them, and where its still hot. I keep looking at Utahs weather and honestly wish I was back. I did look at the weather this morning though and saw snow on Friday, so I will enjoy my mid 70s that day 😂

We ended up in Riverside quite a bit this past week. Hna. Nicholson had a chiropractor appointment, Sis. Jewell had to go to the gran to have one of the office Elders check her foot, and then we got stuck at the doctors, again for sis. Jewells foot, for like 2 hours. But hna. Nicholson, sis. Lewis, and I got to watch Scooby Doo while we waited 😂 

We have come to the conclusion that our zone is lame. We planned to go hiking this morning and then at 7:20, the Chinese elders texted and said they didnt want to do it this week and wanted to move it to next week... if they dont want to do it, we will just go with the Spanish elders. Oh well. Theyre just party poopers. 

Again, not too exciting this week... but we do have a fire friend right now! Her name is Hallel and her boyfriend is an inactive member trying to become active again! Hes got a son who is almost 8 who really wants to be baptized. Hallel is awesome! She has been going through a lot but she is so prepared! She also wants to be baptized so bad and I am so excited to see what God has in store for her! We also put our friend Aldo on date this week! 



Highlights...
• We put 2 friends on date for this transfer! 🙌 I hope they both happen
• Mom sent me music! I got to listen to something more than just the music in the mission drive
• Not sure if its necessarily a highlight...but we were stuck in the car for a while driving to and from Riverside
• The weather has been going down! 
• We still keep getting new fires starting but theyre out pretty soon so

  "Started to get along, together.."  Just kidding... my "lemon boy" and I still have not found a way to "get along" (work together). I want something and they want something else. How come all the best things fall apart

 "And it started pretty slowly..." The song has nothing to do with the email this week... I just wanted to use a Benson Boone song... sooo.... yeah Happy Monday! I hope your week has been great! Send me an email! I'd love to hear about it!  This past week for me was great? I don't know... I'm really bad about feeling feelings. I will apologize in advance as my thoughts are all over the place. So be grateful that I can compose half comprehensible sentences.  Last Monday, I got it approved from the Pres to go buy an acoustic guitar today so hopefully we can find the time to do that! I have been playing my comps guitar but, come time for transfers, I may not be with her and won't, for sure, have a guitar to play to fill my time.  Tacos, tacos, and MORE tacos! Am I complaining? Absolutely not! We have had street tacos almost every single night and I love them! One of the families we ate with had something close to like a taco bar... they had like 4 different meats...

Even when the dark comes crashing through...

  "When you need a friend to carry you, when youre broken on the ground, you will be found"  You will be found from dear evan hansen has been stuck in my head for the past couple days and I'm not sure why... am I complaining? No. Not at all. We all at times need a friend to carry us through the dark times and when we find ourselves broken on the ground. I guess that is the cool thing about missionary work.  God has prepared so many people for me to find and to teach about His Gospel! I get to be the friend to carry them through the dark times and when they are "broken on the ground". I hate being social but I LOVE helping others. One full transfer in and I have already found so many amigos who just need a friend to carry them through their hard times! And to help them find joy in the Gospel and growing their relationship with God!  Hola Tonotos (see attatched picture at the end)... Our barrio had a fiesta on Saturday! It was a culture celebration!
